Paying Extra for Choice Seats?
I just got an email reminder today from US Airways that it is charging for what it calls “Choice” seats. These are the window and aisle seats near the front of the plane – seats that allow you to get on and off earlier. These choice seats will cost as little as $5 extra as of now. I can see why some people would choose to do this – ease of travel, etc., but this concerns me.
Look for more airlines to follow suit. Some already charge extra for exit seats. I, for one, do not like this disturbing trend. First, we pay for checked luggage, then some carry-ons, and now choice seats. I understand the airlines have to earn extra money, but I don’t like being nickeled and dimed.
How do YOU feel about it?
