Car or Train?
One of the biggest decisions a traveler must make is whether or not to take the train or to rent a car. For the first solo trip I made to England, this was a hard decision. The train was the easier mode of transportation, but a car offered greater freedom. This was a big part of my decision. Freedom meant I could go where I wanted, when I wanted. There was no waiting for the train; I would simply get in the car and go. The downside? Driving on the other side of the road. I was afraid that I would have trouble maneuvering the car while figuring out where I want to go. I decided to rent a car anyway.
It was a decision I did not regret. I used AutoEurope.com to locate a good deal on a car. I found it fairly easy to drive on the left. I took some time to read over travel rules and regs in the UK, and then I was off! It was one of the best trips of my life – I had the freedom to travel anywhere I wished – and, boy did I. I saw Wales, England, and Scotland all in two weeks.
To make this decision for yourself, just figure out what you are looking for on your vacation. If you only have a few major cities that you want to go to, the train might be better. Nothing beats a car to me, but I have friends who adore the train and bus. If you plan to drink a lot, then the train will definitely be better!
Whatever you do, enjoy your vacation!
